Bentelo 04-07-2010

The boys were back! This time they came from Dublin by plane where they had a gig the day before. So, this Sunday morning Jerry from the booking office Artilla and I drove to Schiphol to pick them up. We brought them to the hotel where they could rest a few hours. In the late afternoon somebody from the festival organization came to pick us up in an old fire engine. That was great fun!

After about 5 min. we arrived at the festival ground and the boys did their sound check and had something to eat. At 6:30 p.m. the gig started. After about one hour they had a half hour break, when Dieter Koblenz (entertainer german songs) came on stage for a little performance and the boys could rest for a while. At 8:00 p.m. they came back on stage. It was a great gig. Several times Patrick was stage diving and sang while he was floating above the audience. That was great! At about half past nine the show was over and we had some nice drinks backstage.  Later on we got hungry and we found a place where we could get some frankfurters. We were very grateful for the late hospitality and the yummy sausages. That was a nice ending of the evening.

At 1:30 a.m. we returned to the hotel. The next morning we had to get up early to bring them back to the airport at 9 a.m.

Boys, that was great! Jerry and I want to thank you for such an

We hope to see you again soon.

Martin left the band, Tim joined the band.                              Dear Fans, as you all already know the band has a new bass player. Many of you were very sad to hear Martin left the band to have more time for his kids. We surely all will miss him very much and we hope to see him with one of his new music projects on stage sometime soon. Good luck, Martin!

Now Tim has joined to lower the average age of the band (hehe). Welcome Tim!

Both - Martin and Tim - have left a little message for you.

Martins message:                                                               I was a fan of the bogus brothers from the early days when they were a blues brothers tribute band. I saw them many times in york and they made a big impression on me! They were once described to me as a band with 9 front men and this was a great way to put it as everyone played their part in the show.
I worked at the same company with Pat for a while and we had a band together so when he was asked to join bogus I was both pleased for him and jealous too ;) Then when Owen left the band and I was asked to join it was a dream come true. Only problem was, I never played bass before! So i had to learn quickly and my fingers were covered with blisters... I always wanted to tour in different countries and of course thats what we did!

I made so many good friends all over europe and loved to play in big festivals in the netherlands and in the ski resorts in austria, those were my favourite things about the band as well as the great fun we had together. The other guys in the band became my close friends and still are today.
It was hard for me to leave, but my kids are growing up fast and I want to spend time with them and have fun times with them too. I will miss the guys and all my friends in europe but who knows? maybe my new bands, Swingstar and The Secrets will come there sometime!
So thanks to the bogus boys, Tony, Pat, Nige and Paul for many fantastic memories and Good luck to their great new bassman Tim,
TIME TO PAAARTY!!
much love,
Slej xx.                                                                                       Tims message:                                                                  I'm happy to give you some information about myself:

I'm only 21 years old (much younger than the other guys!) and I've been playing bass for 8 years. I graduated from University in June, and whilst doing some other music work I heard that a band were looking for a bass player - the Bogus Brothers of course! I went for a couple of auditions and the guys seemed to like me so offered me the job!

I've been with them since November 2009, and I'm enjoying it a lot.

I'm really looking forward to coming over to Europe for some gigs!
